About Pam & Dan’s Hauling

We are a family-owned business in the waste removal industry, and we provide junk removal and trash hauling services to clients across Colorado Springs, CO. Dan, and I met in 1987. He used to work for a trash company, and I worked two jobs (one part-time and one full-time) as we raised my four-year-old. 

Given our jobs, we were both used to working long hours, which meant we were exhausted by the end of the day. There were many times where Dan was heading out to work, and I was coming in. That’s how exhausting our schedules were. 

In 1988, Dan was hurt on the job and, as a result, was let go. It was a scary time for us as his injury was severe, and it took his income and mine to keep our family afloat. After months of chiropractic care, Dan was able to get back to work. But when the company found out he had hurt his back before, they didn’t want to hire him. The lack of opportunities due to his injury left him with just one option, starting his own business.

I remember him coming into my work place to tell me he was going to start working for himself. He said if he could do it for another company, he could certainly do it himself. So with an old beat-up truck, we would go around doing jobs for anyone that would hire us to remove their junk.

In September 1989, we were married, and in December 1989, I decided to quit my jobs to help Dan full-time. We were getting so busy with the business that it felt right to quit my jobs and focus on the business. Doing this also meant that we could spend more time together, which on most days, was 24/7.

It’s been thirty years today since we started this business, and I’m so happy with all the decisions we’ve made. Over the last three decades, we raised our kids and took our business to incredible heights. We invested in more trucks to offer weekly trash pickups and dumpster rentals.

As our client base expanded, so did our workload. So, in 2020, we decided to lighten the load a little. We closed the weekly trash service, and we are currently doing only dumpsters and one-time hauling. We are usually open available to clients from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm from Monday to Saturday. We even drop off dumpsters on Sundays when needed.

Our waste removal services are very efficient and offer several benefits to our clients. Using our dumpsters is great for easier clean-ups in our customers’ time frame. If they need added help, we can also schedule one-time specialized hauling.

We take calls, set appointments, and deliver dumpsters as and when necessary all by ourselves. By interacting with clients directly in this way, we can really get to know what their needs are. We have always loved working personally with our customers to make this the easiest part of their project. Also, people tend to forget about the clean up until the very end of their project, and this usually puts them in a crunch to get everything out.

Fortunately, we can help our clients with the waste management tools that they require. As we are up-to-date on the latest trends in terms of garbage disposal and client communication, we can even ensure that their needs are thoroughly taken care of.

We are proud of all that we’ve achieved so far with our business. We are particularly proud of knowing that we carry out each job as if doing it for ourselves. When dealing with clients, we treat them with respect and like we have known them forever. We also give them choices (that is, dumpster or one-time hauling) so they can choose solutions that work best for them. This is not a one solution fits all kinds of business, and we are here to help our clients find the perfect fit for their needs. If they require furniture removal, construction clean-ups, or branches and junk removal, we provide them with precisely what they need.

Besides this, our clients are happy to know that our prices do not flip flop. We keep them well informed about our rates. That way, when we come in on the scheduled date for the clean up, our clients are not faced with surprises. We believe it is the small details that set us apart from our competitors, and so we do our best to ensure that they meet client expectations.

Additionally, we have worked very hard to stay out of debt and this helps us maintain stable prices. If we had outstanding debt, we would have to increase our rates to pay off our loans. Fortunately, that’s not the case, and we can afford to provide our clients with budget-friendly services.

Currently, our waste management services are available to clients across Colorado Springs, which is our base. But we even head out to Falcon, Monument, Cascade and Widefield, Security, and Fountain. We hope to expand to other locations in the future. However, we won’t do it at the cost quality. If our existing service structure suffers on account of our expansion plans, we will look into other ways of expanding our brand.
