About Pam & Dan’s Hauling 

We are a family-owned business in the waste removal industry, and we provide junk removal and trash hauling services to clients across Colorado Springs, CO. Dan, and I met in 1987. He used to work for a trash company, and I worked two jobs (one part-time and one full-time) as we raised my four-year-old.

Given our jobs, we were both used to working long hours, which meant we were exhausted by the end of the day. There were many times where Dan was heading out to work, and I was coming in. That’s how exhausting our schedules were.

In 1988, Dan was hurt on the job and, as a result, was let go. It was a scary time for us as his injury was severe, and it took his income and mine to keep our family afloat. After months of chiropractic care, Dan was able to get back to work. But when the company found out he had hurt his back before, they didn’t want to hire him. The lack of opportunities due to his injury left him with just one option, starting his own business.

I remember him coming into my work place to tell me he was going to start working for himself. He said if he could do it for another company, he could certainly do it himself. So with an old beat-up truck, we would go around doing jobs for anyone that would hire us to remove their junk.

In September 1989, we were married, and in December 1989, I decided to quit my jobs to help Dan full-time. We were getting so busy with the business that it felt right to quit my jobs and focus on the business. Doing this also meant that we could spend more time together, which on most days, was 24/7.

It’s been thirty years today since we started this business, and I’m so happy with all the decisions we’ve made. Over the last three decades, we raised our kids and took our business to incredible heights. We invested in more trucks to offer weekly trash pickups and dumpster rentals.

As our client base expanded, so did our workload. So, in 2020, we decided to lighten the load a little. We closed the weekly trash service, and we are currently doing only dumpsters and one-time hauling. We are usually open available to clients from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm from Monday to Saturday. We even drop off dumpsters on Sundays when needed.

Meet One of The Faces Behind Pam & Dan’s Hauling

I’m Pamela Pollard, the proud co-owner of  Pam & Dan’s Hauling  .

I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

My husband, Dan, and I have always been environmentally conscious. So, after witnessing the waste that needed cleaning up in our neighborhood, we decided to launch a junk removal enterprise from the back of an old beat-up truck in 1989.

We hauled away anything that people wanted to remove, including furniture, trash, and branches. Consequently, in 1992, we added our weekly trash pick-ups throughout Colorado Springs, Widefield, and Fountain.

Over the years, we continued to work hard to build up the business and reached a level where we could afford to invest in dumpsters. In 2018, we added containers which allowed us to semi-retire by leaving out the trash services and focusing on dumpsters and one-time pick-ups.

Our motto is to get things done right the first time, and I believe what sets us apart from the others is that we take a customer-first approach. Consequently, we show up early with a friendly smile and are always respectful of our clients’ needs.

We listen meticulously to clients, and answer any questions regarding their projects. Besides, we’re always honest and render consistent pricing, which has made us successful.

I also attribute our success to being flexible and willing to change at the drop of a hat to suit the client’s schedules. It has enabled us to build close relationships, that even when they are not at home they trust us to complete the tasks efficiently.

As a result, when happy clients refer us to friends and loved ones, it’s the most rewarding compliment. Many of them have been with us for so long that they feel like family, and It’s nice to catch up during a job.

When I’m not organizing dumpsters, I enjoy working in the garden and building things. I’ve built sheds, greenhouses and completely remodeled a rental property. I’m currently designing an outdoor pond with Koi fish and replacing hardwood flooring indoors.
